Terran 1v1 Strategies
If you don’t know what x/y psi means such as 8/10 psi or 8/9 psi means, then look at the Protoss 1v1 Strat (Protoss vs Terran or Random) post.
Terran 1v1 Strat (Terran vs Protoss or Random) - Terran is the weakest race that requires the most micro in the beginning of the game. Your Marine micro must be pretty good to hold off the Protoss mid build rush. The starting build for Terran is 8/10 Supply Depot, 9/10 Barracks and the same SCV that made the 8/10 Supply Depot should make another Barracks. At 12/18 psi make your 3rd Barracks and at 13/18 psi make another Supply Depot. This SCV thats is making the second Supply Depot should continue making Supply Depots until you have your max 200 psi. Your Barracks’ should now be making constant marines. The SCV that finished making the 3rd Barracks needs to make the first Gas Refinery. While the Gas Refinery is making, build an academy with an SCV. If your opponent is Protoss they most likely will be mid build rushing you along with a Cannon rush. Once you see that they are Cannon rushing you immediately start making a Factory in the back of your base where it can be protected easily and get a Tank out as fast as you can so you can start pushing out by killing the Cannons with the Tank because remember that Cannons>Terran Infantry (Marines/Medics/Firebats). If you destroy the Cannons fast you will probably have a greater mass than your opponent depending on the 1v1. You need to be a good judge of what your opponent has throughout the game just like in every single other 1v1. Also around 6-7 minutes you need detectors in case they try to Dark Templar rush you after the Cannon rush. Keep pumping out Marines and Tanks for a good mass. Attack once you think it’s a good time to attack, but I wouldn’t wait too long because once they get High Templar storms, it makes it harder to push through. By the time they have storms you need EMP. Always try to have around 5 Science Vessels to EMP the High Templars or just your opponent’s mass. If the mass game doesn’t seem to going anywhere between you 2 then get a mass D at your choke and go for a mass drop with about 5 Drop Ships full of Tanks/Marines. Get about 2-3 Wraiths that go with the Drop Ships so that the Cannons around his main target the Wraiths so that the Drop Ships have time to drop all the units within the Drop Ships. Take out his Probes and if you can, his main. Don’t forget to make turrets on the sides of your base so that your opponent can’t drop you. To help prevent drops on you, make 2 bunkers filled with marines behind your main, 1 bunker in the front of you main and some turrets by the bunkers with about 3-5 Tanks depending on how hard or constant they are dropping you. Basically in a TvP match you need to hurt them before they hurt you.
